Margaret, welcome aboard and congratulations on your accomplishments.  Finishing a 5K is no easy task.  How awesome was it that people actually finished BEHIND you?  I remember my first one.  My goal was to not walk any of it, run the whole thing.  My next goal was to not finish dead last.  Didn't care if there were a 1,000 people and I finished 999th, that was my goal.  I wound up finishing in the top 10% of my age bracket and actually stood at the finish line cheering others on as they finished the race.  The ultimate high!!!  Keep up the great work and stay strong.

Wow, Cira, I hardly recognized you.  Absolutely amazing!!!  You should be so very proud to be still maintaining after that long a time.  I've played the yo-yo game myself and I am also proud to say I haven't swayed beyond the point of no return.  You're right, this is a battle that will last until we take our final breath.

As for the fiasco that this board appears to have turned into, I am so sorry you had to go through it.  You are one of the regulars I have been referring to and you've NEVER had anything to say that wasn't positive and encouraging.  I say to hell with what happened in the past and get this board to where it needs to be.  Just by this small sample size on a Tuesday morning, it is quite obvious that many people still care around here.  The bad apples will weed themselves out.

It's great to see you on here this morning Cira, don't be a stranger.  I promise I won't.

Thanks!!! I am actually scheduled for my c-section next Thursday!

I am freaking out; not about the surgery, but about having a human being dependent on me

yeah, a Maryland exercise post!  Off for a walk today, but yesterday I did week 8, day 3 of C25K; tomorrow will be week 9, day 1.   I did my first 5k this past Saturday.  I wanted to really see where I was at.  I found I have a lot of work to do!  But, I finished it, and there were folks coming in behind me.  So, I'm good with that for now.  Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot 5k is next.  A few weeks to get it going!  :)  Thanks for getting this together. -margaret

Sylvie, I don't even know you and I'm excited for you and your husband.  Being a father of two (11 and 10), I know exactly where you're at right now.  Enjoy it and enjoy the sleep you may be currently getting.  It may be a while before you can do so again.  lol.  Be sure to post pictures so we can all enjoy them!  Congratulations.

Here, here! I'm glad you posted this. I agree! I'm still here and I still check in and I'd really love to get back to a place where we are lifting one another up.

I can't believe you are so close to baby-time! Congratulations. I am so excited for you! Things are pretty good for me. I'm losing very slowly (and sometimes wonder if I'm still losing at all) but I've lost over 80 pounds and I'm feeling very good about that.

I am so excited for all the newbies on here. To think, this time last year I felt so far away from my surgery date. In the past, a year would just pass anyway, but this year it's passed and I'm 80 pounds down and healthier every day. I will never forget all the support I got on here and I would really love to offer that to everyone else.

So thanks for the jump start! And good luck in the next 2 weeks!

Topic: RE: Bypass: cream of crab soup --yes or no
Not for me!  It's just about the only thing I've had a reaction to so far (besides a bite of banana).  My head immediately was hot and sweaty.  That was probably at about 1 month out - maybe too early to try, but it was enough of a reaction that I won't try again.  :)   I've converted to Maryland crab soup, leaving the corn at the bottom of the bowl but thoroughly enjoying everything else.  -margaret
