Checking back in - everything OK!
Sorry to take so long to post - the husband unit kept my other lists up to date, but he forgot here!
Surgery went swimmingly, I've been home since Thursday evening. My days are up and down, mostly up. My only pain is a persistent headache and a screaming backache from the binder. Has anyone else had this problem? I know I have to keep it on until my checkup on the 19th, but it is making sleeping a real problem.
I am taking the pureed diet easy, just tried some pureed chicken today, which went down easily. It's amazing to me just how much food 2 -3 ounces is! It is sometimes daunting, but I know I need my protein.
Thank you to everyone who wrote, I really appreciate it!

Glad you are doing well, except for the aches of course. I had a bad headache (migrane really) and was able to take the meltaway children's tylenol. They also have an adult liquid tylenol. Perhapos that would at least relieve the pain without knocking you out like painkillers would.
Good Luck with the rest of your recovery.
Thanks Roni, I really appreciate it!
Actually, I appear to be significantly blessed. The migraines seem to be involved with the problem we had in the hospital controlling my blood pressure. I went back to my original dosage, and the headaches abated. I have a home health nurse coming by once or twice a week, and she's checking my bp. With the regular dose, my readings are at high normal.
Also, my tummy seems to be extremely tolerant of whatever I'm eating. Of course, I'm only eating what is on the pureed diet, but so far so good. No lactose intolerance, home pureed chicken is quite yummy, and I had some egg and cheese for lunch. Unjury is my friend and blends into my yogurt and applesauce well. I take my pills either just with the food, or the tiniest sip of water, and regular Tylenol works. The back ache is getting better as time goes on, and I was actually able to take a nap today. And I really like drinking water.
All in all, I am well and truly blessed. I was concerned up to the last second, but my incredibly easy recovery so far
leads me to believe that this was the right course for me. Thanks for all the support so far, and the company for the rest of the journey.
