Getting Started:
Hi all, My name is TUG, and had just been with my PCP today to start my 6 mo. diet plan. She suggested Weigh****chers. Long story short. Really don't have the money, short on trans. and can't leave house too much due to back problems. But I have very good knowledge of what to eat, and purchase some of their meals, along with cooking healthy, I would like to use everybody out there as my support group, as it would be a lot easier on me and I really enjoy everyone on OH. Could use some opinions. Thank You TUG... My starting wgt. 387#
Tug,
I too had a 6 month supervised diet and my starting weight was 398 lbs. I purchased an exercise bike and I started purchasing low-fat food items and a higher protein diet. I went to the support group meetings to hear the foods that would be on my diet after surgery and tried to mimic the diet I would be on as a post op. I also purchased a pedometer. A good quality one that I still religiously use today. The $ 4.00 ones are cheap and not reliable. I actually made a point to walk 10,000 steps each day. I built up, when I first started I would walk only 2,000 steps in a day. These changes really were the basis for the 60 pouds that I lost before surgery. Good luck on your diet and I wish you the best with your journey.
