Hey everyone.... I'm mostly a lurker here anymore, but I'm proceeding with the surgery and wanted to know, specifically, how Dr. Gandsas has you prepare for the surgery? Are you on a liquid diet for the prior week? Or do you take fleets? Thanks everyone!

Hello , Dr. Gandsas performed my surgery on Monday 3/6/06. I wasn't required to be on a liquid diet prior to surgery. I wasn't able to eat anything after 12:00 on Saturday, which was technically Sunday morning. I just had to be on a liquid diet the entire day before the surgery. I had to purchase 2 bottles of the Fleets stuff. It's nasty so you may want to mix it with sprite or gingerale. Good Luck Nadine O.

Nadine, did you have to lose weight before your surgery, or is that only for people who are a certain weight?

Sorry I'm just responding. I had a busy weekend. Karen, the nurse told me it would be better if I lost as much weight as possible before surgery. Dr. Gandsas didn't specifically mandate it. But, in my case I only had about 2 1/2 weeks to prepare for the surgery. My initial appt with Dr. Gansas was on 2/14/06. He scheduled my surgery for 3/6/06 at that time. So, I had to do all the pre-surgery testing with in that time frame. I did manage to lose 1 pound between 2/14/06 and 3/6/06. I know in some cases he mandates the patient to lose weight prior to having the surgery. It depends on the cir****tances. Nadine O.
