I had a gastric bypass on 3/23/06 ...and I am so happy ...it took me quite a while to decide to have this surgery and then when I did decide ...it took me quite a while to find the surgeon I wanted to do it ...I have many health problems as I'm sure most over weight people do, but a little over a year ago I had a bad heart attack that almost took my life ...I knew I had to do something ...that made me a high risk for the surgery ...his team was wonderful and he was absolutely wonderful ...I want to say to anyone who is just thinking about having it done that you should go to one of the meetings and meet him and his staff at GBMC ...thanks to them and him mostly I am on my way to a new life and will be forever grateful for my choice ...Rheba Myers

Rheba - Congrats! Like Faye, I, too, worship at the shrine of Dr. Von Rueden. I am 8 mos. out and it was absolutely the best decision I could've made. And I made absolutely the best choice to have him do the surgery. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. And his staff was equally wonderful! I am a lifetime devotee! Good luck and welcome!
