Psych Eval Referral - Megellan Participant

Hi, I'm looking for a referral to a psyc in MD or DC who is part of Megellan Behaviroal Health. I have Carefirst BC/BS they use Megellan and I'm looking for a person who will see me as a copay rather than self-pay. Thanks.

Hi, Did you ask your surgeon (or his program director) for a list of the mental health professionals they work with? Even if you have to self-pay that might be a better idea. You will know going into the evaluation that the person you are seeing is knowledgeable about WLS and what it involves and is also WLS-friendly. I have Carefirst also, and had my evaluation done by the psych social worker *****gularly sees Dr Sofronski's patients. That didn't make the process any easier, I was STILL terrified, but I did survive. Best wishes on your journey. Hugs, Mo

Hi, I have/had CareFirst Blue Choice and Magellan Health Services (800-245-7013) for my plan and I got a list of therapist referral numbers to chose one to do my referral. It was a co-pay for me. I picked one in Millersville area don't remember the groups name though. Hope this helps and best of luck!! pat
