The church I go to has holy communion/eucharist every service. It consists of grape juice/wine and bread/communion wafer. How have people handled this? I hate the thought of never being able to participate in this sacrament. Thanks. Brynn

Hi Brynn, This was a concern of mine too -- I was about 3 or 4 weeks out from surgery the first time I took Communion (my church only has it once a month). Ours consists of a tiny bit of grape juice (maybe a sip) and a small cube of bread and I've never had any problems with it. Good luck with your surgery!!!! Debby

Brynn, You should have no problem doing either one, just take a sip of the grape juice to make sure you don't have any reactions as for the wafer no problem there at all. Denise

We have communion at our church once a month and that was a concern of mines as well. But I just took a very small piece of the bread and I chewed it better than I chew my food daily. It went down fine and all is well. If you need to, pray before taking it. That will help! Natural Beauty
