Self-Pay plastic surgery
It varies with the extent of surgery you want or need. I can tell you that most plastic surgeons will do a consultation for under $100. Some closer to the $40-$50 range. They will meet with you, discuss your needs, plan for treatment, and then discuss costs and financing. Plastic surgeons deal with alot of people who are self pay and there are options available, so I would suggest calling a reputable plastic surgeon and ask for their consultation fee. If it's not too expensive, make the appt. It's worth finding out your options, even if you can only do a little at a time.
Good Luck.
I've completed my plastics - all self-pay. I also had several consults - for me all of which were free or co-payment covered. Get references, have your list of qusetions, and listen to your "gut" when you make your decision.
You also *must* have a realistic expectation. You read a lot about people thinking this "fixes" everything. They are usually disappointed when the fix and expectation are not close.
My personal experience with my surgeon (Adam Basner) and procedures have all met and/or excceded my expectations.
Best wishes,
Lisa
I was self-pay for everything, including my wls...just had a breast lift and lipo done yesterday....My surgeon, Dr. Vogel, baltimore, was excellent and did cut me a few breaks because I was having more than one procedure done at the same time...
My results FAR exceeded my expectations....check out his website, Dr. James Vogel...
Best wishes to you...

Brynn, this is from my profile:
A frequently asked question for those considering self-pay for reconstructive surgery is how much does abdominoplasty cost? It depends on many factors -- whether the procedure is performed in a medical center, community hospital or doctor's office; whether one needs to stay overnight; the region of the country, and of course, many other unknown quantities.
That said, here is the breakdown of abdominoplasty that I underwent on Aug. 31. I had the procedure at a university research medical center in the MidAtlantic region. Because I had a reaction to the anesthesia, I was kept in hospital overnight. Your costs may vary.
Surgeon's fee: $4,000 Room & board: $1,252 General Classification (I have no idea what this is): $208 Pharmacy: $91.39 Medical-surgical supplies: $971 Lab: $12.82 Operating room services: $1,934 Anesthesiology $389.40 EKG/EEG: $46.80
Total: $8,905.79
