HI, Based on my personal experience, you are completely normal, or we are both crazy....oops, I was trying to get you to cheer up....
ok, a different route....
I have used this analogy several times so if you have already heard it, tune it out....
For me, getting ready for surgery was a somewhat exciting time...there was the wait, the fight, a few other fights, the anticipation of both the surgery AND the weightloss....and the list goes on....
So, my analogy...if you are married, think about the wedding and the marriage....once I knew I/we were getting married, most of our thoughts/time went to the "wedding"...the dress, the church, the flowers, etc....
after a few months of it, we had a chat and decided to get our focus back on the "marriage"....it was so easy to get caught up in the wedding...the excitment, the extensive planning, etc...
Well, now your plans are made so to speak, the dress is hanging in the closet(oops, the tux), the flowers are ordered, the cake is being made, your relatives are coming to town....
you get the idea...
Anyway, I think what you are feeling is completely normal....read my profile around the date of March/April 04...I had surgery in April 04...one night in particular I was ready to cancel everything...
I have said several times...for me, pre-op was SO MUCH HARDER than post-op...the worry, the wait, the unknown....
I had open RNY and was in the hospital for 4 days....no big deal compared to pre-op RNY...
I am 21 months out, down 130 lbs, had a tummy tuck and am now having a breast lift this coming wednesday...
Life was always good, but since wls, life is EXCELLENT!!!
Best wishes to you for a successful surgery and a quick recovery..
sorry for the book....but I remember how nerve racking the time was for me....it too shall pas you by...and so will all your clothes, your shoes, and your excess weight...grin...
Enjoy the Ride...it is a wonderful trip!!

Wow did this post hit home for me. I thought I was the only one. I actually had a friend get very upset with me because I didn't seem overly excited when she called. I keep having these things I'm calling "mortality moments". I've been waiting 3 years for this and now that its finally here it seems like a dream. GOOD LUCK!
