Grocery shopping is so hard. I walk through the store and don't know what to buy. I'm still supposed to be on purred food, but choose to eat just soft foods chewed very well. I end up in a bad mood after I leave the store. Today I bought, diced pears, tomato soup, chili, tuna and milk. I"m so bored with this food i can scream.

Sometimes blending foods help too. I was able to have cottage cheese and egg beaters during this stage... I would use baby food like peaches and cottage cheese and a little cinnamon or eggs and creamed spinach (baby food)... Having never eaten baby food (well that I can remember ), I was surprised I didn't gag and actually quite nice. I also actually like and still use Permalean protein powder. 20G of protein you mix in 4 oz of water. Great for early post op. You can use skim milk as you get further out and can tolerate. As the previous poster stated, this phase will pass, but you'll be surprised how creative you get during this early phase. Best wishes, Lisa

not sure what YOUR surgeon allows, but one of my saviors was refried beans with cheese and a bit of mexican seasoning...I had this on pureed...also, I would put a bit of the refried beans in a oven safe dessert cup, add the seasoning, put some cheese on top and bake it in the oven...the cheese would get nice and crunchy...After I took it out of the oven, I would let it cool for a few minutes, then I would use my spoon or fork to break up the crisp shell....I enjoyed that a lot...and it had a texture... I also missed eating with a fork...I found that I got a lot more enjoyment while using a fork than a spoon...not sure why, but it helped my mind. This phase will pass....welcome to the losing side.
