Surgery Date getting closer
Dre
Anything that you like now will taste wat different after surgery.. use our time now to rest & prepare...make the house ready beat lauren if she needs it....stuff you will be too tired to do afterwards I personally couldnt stand even the smell of food for weeks after my surgery so all I did was drink ....I did tolerate soy milk, water & protein powder....helped keep me from passing out...

Andre,
I was very moved by your other recent thread on the message board, and wish you the best for your upcoming surgery.
Every surgeon's pre-op requirements are different for their patients. Regardless of whether your WLS will be open or lap, anything you can do to jump start your weight loss mindset for after the surgery will (at least in my opinion) put you ahead of the game. While my surgeon (Dr. Barry Greene) actually requires his patients to go on an all liquid protein regime (no pureed foods, either) in the 2-3 weeks before surgery, even if you go to one or two meals a day that are in the nature of protein shakes, you will be able to start adjusting your body to the major change that will be happening. Yes, your tastes may change after the surgery, but remember, the surgeon is not operating on your brain or your way of thinking. Only you can make that change. Start as early as you can to work at using the wonderful tool you'll be getting.
All the best to you in your journey.
