Soda
Does your surgeon allow for it? If not you shouldn't drink it. You could let it go flat and then drink it or try the diet Pepsi Slurpee from 7/11. The carbonation is usually why surgeons don't like patients to have it. It cam irritate the pouch, cause foamies, or worst case scenario cause you to vomit.
I drink it okay and trust me I think my Doc would hit me if he knew. I couldn't drink it for the first 4 months because it made me bend over in pain but now I drink one can of Mt. Dew in the morning (I don't drink coffee). Some say that the carbonation might make the pouch expand and that you not only should never drink with a meal but never drink soda and a meal at the same time. Not sure about the actual facts behind that though.
Soda is bad because of the sugar but compared to what I used to shove in this mouth I won't beat myself up for drinking it. I think people worry when they see me drink it because they think I'm falling into bad habits again but let them think what they want I know the truth. It's been half a year and I'm far from falling off any wagon ;o)
