I CAN'T STOP LOSING WEIGHT!
To some this may sound like a great thing but I'm getting too skinny. My doctor and nutritionist have been great. They have me on a special diet, high calorie, certain techniques to get in more food etc. I find that the only way I can maintain my weight is eating all the wrong things. Lucky or unkucky I can eat anything sugar included. I was size 24 and I am now a size 6, I would probably be a size 4 with a tummy tuck. Oh and I'm 5"9. I still weigh 143 pounds but my goal was 15o. I had my surgery 8 months ago(3/30/05). I can't work out because when I do I lose even more. I'm eating everything that made me obese to keep me from strinking to nothing. Is there anyone out there that is going through this? If so how are you stabilizing your weight? How are you stopping this process. At this rate I will be 100 ponds by March.
I'm sorry you are having this problem. It can be just as stressful as not being able to stop gaining weight.
All I can say is to follow what your nutritionist and surgeon are recomending. High calorie foods, drink when you eat, that kind of stuff.
I hope you are able to find a better answer.
Good luck!

Hey Hope - Glad to see you poping up again. I think about you often.

I'm sorry you are going through the reverse issue now. I'm sure Mary B and Dr. K have some great advice for you. Track your intake religiously now and follow the info they are suggesting to a T. Eating empty calorie foods like cookies and junk isn't going to help moods, health, or the kind of weight gain/stabalization you are looking for. It really can do a lot of damage. I'm sure they didn't add oreos to your meal plan!! You should still avoid them. To gain weight or drop weight the best way to do it is making healthy choices. If you need those choices to be more calorie dense without adding bulk consider increasing healthy fats - nuts, olive oil, no sugar added peanut butter. Also, do they have you eating more frequently and drinking a little with meals? How about adding back in some protein shakes? Sounds yucky but you can add flax oil to shakes and that increases the calories. Peanut butter works as well. Living with my husband during his triathlon training and hanging out with gym rats in general I've learned a lot about weight gain and building muscle. Call me if you want to chat 443-827-8155.
