Flexible Spending Accounts and Nutritional Supplements

I'm about to sign up for this for the first time and trying to estimate what to contribute to my medical flexible spending account. Under my program, nutritional supplements are not covered "if they are merely beneficial for general health. However, they may be reimbursable if recommended by a medical practitioner to treat a specific medical condition." I would be required to submt a certification of medical necessity with each reimbursement request. Has anyone had any success with this? What wording did you use? I'm sure my doctor would support this, but I'd like to recommend how to answer the questions on the form which are: - Diagnosis - Recommended Treatment - How will the recommended treatment alleviate the diagnosis or symptoms? - How long is the treatment requried? Thank you for your help! Genna
