Just moved to Maryland from Alaska and am wondering if there is a support group in the Elkridge area?

Patty, There is a support group at St. Agnes Hospital (up Washington Blvd to Southwestern Blvd to Wilkins Avenue) (not too far from Elkridge). I believe they meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. 6:00pm is post ops and 7:00pm is for pre-op/post ops. The support group meets in the Alagia Auditorium, which is pretty easy to find if you enter the main entrance of the hospital. Hope this helps! Take Care, Terry

Sinai Hospital (Baltimore) hosts a support group for post op patients on the third Wednesday of each month. I believe the meetings start at 6:00. The information should be on the hospital website.

Although this is not in Elkridge, we are just around the corner. I would like to personally invite you to our brunch this weekend... Hello Everyone. I have some GREAT news The brunch has been scheduled and the room reserved. I am sending you the details, feel free to share with your other weight loss buddies that are interested. Below you will find the details: Location: Brooklyn Park Branch library @ 1 East 11th Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21225 (Meeting Room) Time: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Date: 12/3/2005 - Saturday Menu: Each person will bring their favorite breakfast, lunch or brunch item. Serving size should feed at least 10, Drinks will be provided...Coffee, Juice and cola's. In addition to the brunch we would like to bring out the holiday season by having a gift exchange. If you would like to participate (completely up to you, if you bring a gift you get a gift) here is how it works... Bring a gift appropriate for both male or female in the amount of $10.00. Use your imagination and be creative. During the brunch those who are participating in the exchange will gather round and begin to exchange gifts. How does it work? All of the gifts are put together in a Santa pile, who goes first? We will start with the person who has had surgery first and work our way around to our newbie's as we call everyone. The first person chooses a gift - opens the gift and shows everyone. The next person chooses a gift BUT before opening the gift he/she can either keep their gift or exchange it with the person before them and so on. The game is very fun and known to bring out a lot of laughs. This day is not an official meeting, we will not sit in a circle and formally discuss our surgeries and life thereafter, this day will be very informal, a day where we can introduce ourselves to many individuals and choose our topics of conversation. Just a day of fun spent with fellow WLS buddies. Feel free to bring your before & after pictures Please email me with your menu item just for my own peace of mind in what we will have to serve. I am very excited to see everyone, both old & new, Please RSVP to me via email for this day. It will help to have headcount when setting up the room. See you all real soon ~ If you have any questions what so ever, just ask Patty
