Insurance Question

Hello once again, As I stated before Iam about to be added to my partners insrance which will hopefully allow for me to have this surgery.A quick question for anyone who might know her plan is Kaiser Permanente Signature Plan I was wondering if anyone knows a doctor within this plan that is obesity helpful . I have had some really bad experiences with the doc's so far and I despise somone handling me like they are disgusted with me. I also think it would make things go a bit faster if I had a doc that was supportive of the surgery right off the bat. Any info is appreciated, Thanks Teresa

Teresa, Try contacting Dr. Brian Cantor. He is a surgeon who is, I believe, on staff w/Kaiser and an experienced bariatric surgeon (he is a former associate with Dr. Greene's practice). I believe Dr. Cantor now is one of Kaiser's bariatric surgeons, and is doing gastric bypass surgery at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. While Dr. Cantor did not do my surgery, he spoke at some of our support group meetings while he was still affiliated w/Dr. Greene, and he is very well-versed, and certainly very supportive of the surgery. Even if you need to go through a primary care physician w/Kaiser, Dr. Cantor probably can steer you to an appropriate choice. Good luck, Leesa
