what the difference is when they say full gastric bypass and a partial one?

It may be referring to the proximal versus distal---ie the amount of small intestine bypassed. Or this partial one may be another way to say mini gastric bypass. My understanding of the mini bypass is they staple off a large part of your stomach but do not re-route the intestine or create a new exit for the stomach content---it uses the passageways the body already comes with. I could be wrong---I got that info from a website and can't be sure how reputable that site is. Karen

Thanks! My friend who had bypass kept saying have the full bypass and not the partial one and when i asked her what the partial one was she didnt know but said that when her mom was researching a lot of people that had the partial one had to go back and do a full one and I was so confused lol. Thanks a lot for you help
