GOD PLEASE SOME ONE HELP RUNNING OUT OF TIME
Think about 80 pounds in a year. That's NOT slacking. If you are working out as much as you say you are, you are building more muscle than is in my entire body.
I posted something earlier about if you find yourself at a plateau (as I am), just CHANGE something. In my case, I need to add water and exercise. In your case... dunno. Only you know. What has YOUR body been saying to YOU? More water? More protein? Better vitamin compliance? Eat less? Eat more? What? Your body is saying something. What is it?
The bottom line, I think, is two-fold. The first aspect is that your body has to adjust. Holy Transformation, Batman! You have lost EIGHTY POUNDS!!! And I'm sure you are PUSHING the exercise. Good for you on both counts!!
But it's an adjustment for your body. You can't expect your complicated metabolism to adjust in a year--not after previously adjusting to your previous reality for however many years before surgery. Needs time.
Meanwhile, however, I read a piece of advice that has remained true for me (a year and almost a month). The advice was that if something isn't happening--change something. Anything. Force "stuff" to adjust. Think about how many ways your body has evolved to adjust to so many different cir****tances. Each time something changes, it has a way of "fixing" it. Starvation (basically) is one of those things. Especially if you're burning serious energy exercising.
So figure out what YOUR body is telling YOU. In my case, I need more water, more vitamins, and more exercise. Meanwhile--even though the scale hasn't moved in 2 months--I'm a 16 when I was an 18 a month and a half ago.
It's not alllllllll about the scale, either.
Listen to what YOU are telling YOU. I wish I could deliver on what I hear from myself....
Eight Pounds in a year! Give yourself a hand!!! And, running 3miles a day...
As the previous poster indicated, changing up your "routine" can shake things up. I recently began spinning. I mix it up with running, other cardio, and weight training...
Also, post op labs are so important, even more so the longer out we go. At 2 years, I need to repeat in 3 mos because of low protein (actually low but in the normal range) causing my white blood cell count to be low, which helps you fight off colds, flu, etc. I'm adding an extra shake.
Then, relax and take a breath... look at your pre-op pix and remember how far you have come.
Best wishes
Lisa
