I made the first step

I attended the Informational Seminar at St Agnes on October 6th with a friend. We joked around laughing at some of the questions, but it was very informative. I spoke with friends & family to get feedback. 90% of them are excited for me (makes you wonder what they have really been thinking about my weight). A few offered to walk with me & asked if I would wait until spring, before having the sugery. But all of them said they would support me no matter what. Over the weekend I did some website research..... Today I contacted Dr. Averbach's office and my appointment is Nov 15th. I am scared, but excited. My co-worker even offered to go with me to the consult... Wow....

Congratulations... I just had surgery on Friday. I know what an awesome and emotional journey you are beginning. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for the encouragement..... I have so many emotions going right now, until I don't know what to do..

Congratulations, every journey begins with the first step. Just keep reading and researching here and anywhere else you can get info. Make a list of questions for your surgeon. When you go to see him you will probably get a list of pre-op tests you need to have done and then.... start working through that list. The surgeons office will help you through but ask here as lots of people on here have had your surgeon do their WLS. Joyce
