Dr Schweitzer at JHU?

Hi friends.. I usually post on the va board since I live in Northern Va.. but thought I would post here to get any and all experiences (the good and the bad) with Dr Schweitzer at Johns Hopkins. Although there are surgeons here and in DC that do lap rny.. I was impressed with Dr Schweitzers credentials.. any comments would be much appreciated! Thanks! Dee K

Love the man - can't say one bad thing about him or his staff, feel free to read my profile. In short he did my surgery 7/9/04, ZERO/ZIP complications, I am now down 141 LBS and life is GREAT! I have gone from a 26/28 to a 6/8...only complaint is that I also went from a DD/F to a C, Best of luck to you ~ you will love him to! Patty

Dr. Schweitzer did my laparoscopic RNY on July 15, 2005. In my opinion, he is a fabulous surgeon -- like the poster before me, I had zero complications. No pain (never took any pain meds after being discharged from the hospital), no nausea, no vomiting, no problems - I was even swimming laps in the pool 9 days post-op! Hi Dee, I have not yet had surgery. But your post sparked my interest. I plan to have Dr. S perform my Lapband sometime next year. I have my consultation scheduled (Feb 2006!! ) soonest available. But I hear he is worth the wait. I have to do my 6 month supervised diet thing anyway. Like you , I have only heard good things about him. Good Luck!! Cristina

Dr. S is top notch and very thorough. I have had no complications and my scars are very tiny (fading fast). You can't go wrong with Dr. S. His staff is great.
