Karen Corkran Hospital Updates....

09/28/05 I just spoke with Karen - she is suffering from a Staph Infection. She is being treated with antibiotics via an I.V. It seems like Penicillin is working the best even though she had allergic reaction to Penicillin years ago. They are expecting Karen to remain in the hospital for the next few days, and will probably be released over the weekend. If the antibiotics do not work it is possible that she may need surgery to find the source of the infection in order for them to drain it. As of right now, she has pain in both of her breasts and is taking Percocet. Please continue to send your well wishes and prayers Karen's way. She is at Harborview Hospital - Southwing Room# 636. Thanks...Nancy ---------------------------------- 09/27/05 I rec'd a phone call from Karen this morning around 7:15am, she told me she is in Harborview Hospital after experiencing pain in one of her breasts. The Plastic Surgeon told her to go to the hospital yesterday after she phoned him. Karen has been in the hospital since yesterday at 1pm and is expected to remain there through Thursday. Apparently, she has some type of infection that has now moved to the other breast and is going down her stomach. The doctors have told her that this is not a result of the plastic surgery/breast reduction she had done in July, but she will know more later as they continue to run tests on her. She has asked me to let you all know what is going on - and to please say a prayer for her. As soon as I have any additional information, I will be sure to pass it along. Thanks...Nancy
