Hello family, I received an email today from my nutritionist that said the reason I have not received my approval letter is because the approval committee is seriously backlogged and that includes my letter. But the nutritionist gave me the name of my GBS surgeon--Dr Bian Cantor. I am on the phone right now trying to set up my first appointment with him. Now they are telling me that I need to contact the Kaiser center where he is located to schedule an appointment. I already left a message for my PCP to enter my referral into the system. (Kaiser medical staff can go online to view referrals.) You know, I don't care how long it takes me tomorrow, but I do know that before the day is over, I will have my appointment scheduled with Dr. Cantor, even if I have to go over to that center in person! I am getting tired of the run around. I hope to have an appoint within the next 2 weeks. Lord, I am so ready for this!! Cara (coG627 )

Cara, Stay with it. Although not my surgeon, I know Dr. Cantor, and he's a real sweetheart of a guy. Young, but very knowledgeable, and I know some folks who's RNY surgery was by Dr. Cantor, and they've been very happy. If you can make it by the Walk From Obesity at Holy Cross Hospital on Saturday morning (9/24), Dr. Cantor is one of the local sponsoring surgeons, and I'm guessing is likely to be there. Best of luck to you. Leesa

Thanks Leesa. I wish I could but I have a couple of other commitments with my family this Saturday. I didn't know there was a Walk for Obesity this weekend at all. I'm going to have to pay closer attention to the posts. Cara (coG627)
