7 Days and Counting
Good afternoon,
My surgery date is September 7th and I am now starting to get nervous. I am scheduled for the laporascopic lap band procedure and the surgery itself does not scare me as much as going to sleep. I am afraid of failed anethesia.
I guess I will have to ask some questions the day of the surgery

Best of luck Kelly!! I tell everyone to think of it like getting a good nap in!
Focus on all the good things to come in the future or go look at the before and after pictures to help settle those nerves. Have faith that you picked a capable surgeon that will take good care of you while you take that "nap" and wake up to a world of new opportunities that include a potential for a better and healthier quality of life. Think positive! You will do just great =)
Stayce,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have recently had two hand surgeries and had no problem but the fear is still lerking. I am going to take the advice of another WLS patient close by and call the hospital and talk to someone in the anethesia department. Hopefully that will put me fears to rest.
Have an awesome day.
Kelly
Kelly,
If your really nervous and want to talk about it before the day of surgery, call the hospital's OR department and let them know that you have questions regarding Anesthesia, when your surgery is and who your surgeon is, and they will have an Anesthesiologist call you back. Waiting until the day of surgery doesn't really seem fair when you meet him once he puts you to sleep and that's the last time you see him. Good luck and congrats on your date for your WLS to begin.
