Lizzi, I've always wanted to touch base with you. I grew up in Hyattsville on Ingraham Street just up from Magruder Park. Love the area, but haven't been back in quite a while. We will go to the festival during Pirate weekend. The kids love it. This year my daughter and I might dress for the era. We'll see if I get brave enough. Have a blast there with your parents. Such a cool experience! TraciL

Hi Traci, I am glad you responded to the post. I have never been on a pirate weekend but this yr may be a reason. I ususlly go 2-3 times each season. Once with parents, once with nieces and once for me. lol I sometime wear a costume, depends on the weather. So, maybe I will see you on pirate weekend. By the way we live on Oliver St near Nicholas Orem School. We bought the home my husband grew up in. I asked him where your street was and he knew exactly where so we can be kindred spirits.. lol Nice to meet with you on line maybe sometime in person. Lizzi

Yup, I went opening day. Always have to do that to see the grass! Anyway, it was really great to be able to walk all over faire and not be in so much pain or totally exhausted just going from one place to another not even halfway across the grounds. I always garb for fair. It is really fun! Most of my faire friends did not know I had the surgery and were very suprised at how much weight I had lost since last season. Told me I was looking very good. They we very happy for me. Have fun stormin' the castle!! I'll be there! Well, I think we are going Scottish weekend and Pirate Invasion weekend. I can't wait to go! It should be so nice to walk around and not have to look for somewhere to sit every few minutes The only bad thing is my RennFest clothes don't fit anymore. I tried my bodice on the other day and its way to big! And the skirts were big to begin with, so who knows how big they are now. I'll just have to buy new clothes. Hope to see some of you there! Hi Lizzie - I plan to go as well but probably wait a few weeks until it cools off. It was sooo hot last year early on in the season. My friend, Melissa, is actually an actress in the royal court. She plays Lady Anne Stanhope Seymour, Viscountess Beauchamp. Look for the pretty loud mouth with the curly red hair running around and you will see her (well that probably described half the people there .. haha). Enjoy!

Ok I gotta look up Pirate weekend, because if we go it will likely be then! My husband is a pirate fan. Well... we both are... but he started it! September 24th & 25th: Pirate Invasion Weekend Arrgghh, matey. Tis the annual pirate weekend. Enjoy music by the Pyrates Royale and The Corsairs. Visit with the Pirate Queen. Pirate costume contest for adults and kids. Special appearance of the knights from Medieval Times. hmmmmm
