Schweitzer Support Group ??

Anyone have the info on the schweitzer/ magnuson support group at hopkins ?? Do they have a seperate lap band one ??

I go to the one at JH Bayview...it's on the 2nd Tuesday of the month 5:30-7ish (I think it's a combined Sweitzer and Magnuson group (Magnuson was my surgeon).) You go in the pavillion entrance with the red overhead canopy and just tell the guard your there for the gastric bypass support meeting. I never heard of a separate lap band one. It's a good session with a lot of pre and post ops and excellent interchange of information. Hope to see you there. pat

I went prior to switching surgeons (due to insurance reasons). It really was a HUGE turnout and a great group of people. Very inspiring to hear the post op stories and meet other pre-op patients.

Arnie, Schweitzer did my band in April, and i asked him about creating a band support group just recently... He mentioned that he used to have one, but that at the time, there werent enough local bandsters to make it stick. He said he may get it going again after Ashli returns from maternity leave.
