My only regret about this surgery? I look SO much older and haggard. On the other hand, I FEEL about 20 years younger without all that excess flab dragging me down. Starting a facelift fund in the near future, LOL. -BJ 300/165/150???

wow...I've been told that I look about 10 years younger than I used to...and by the age of the men that keep asking me out it must be true...I'm only 9 months out and almost at goal weight I have 20 more pounds to go. I hope it doesn't change

I have always looked young for my age and my biggest fear was suddenly looking my age or older. So far so good, I still look 10 to 15 years younger than I really am. (something that continually p's my younger sister off, since she is 10 years younger and has always been taken for the older sister). Many of my friends who have not seen me in ages comment how healthy I look both in person and in pictures. Hugs, Mo

Hi Amy, I think you look GREAT. I am almost 13 months out and down 137 lbs. I have heard everything I think from my Nanny telling me I look SICK to men breaking their necks to look. The only person you can trust in telling you the truth is yourself. I have never been a thin person, till now. And now when I look in the mirror I can see where my Nann would say I look sick...she is use to having this plump granddaughter who now her children say is BONEY (me, boney can you believe that?) My sister who is 8 years older then me, I always thought had the perfect build now considers herself FAT, here is the funny thing...we are now the same size! I see myself as THIN, to thin I think above my waist but we can't control where we lose the weight and she says she needs to lose. FUNNY! As far as looking OLD, I don't think I look OLD. My face has changed. It is no longer fat, it has definition. Luckily I have no extra skin on my face. My arms are okay, not bad enough for surgery. My stomach is loose but not overlapping so I am not worried about a hip to hip smiley face, I simply turn out the lights & no mid drift tops for me My legs I would love to have lifted. Those tree trunks sag badly, financially I cannot afford plastics, insurance said it is cosmetic even though I have lost 137 lbs so I say THANKS to the maker of Capri pants and long dresses! Bottomline is I feel GREAT with the new me. I love that I can do things that I couldn't do before. And if looking old is the cost, I'll take it...afterall it is not how you look but how you feel? Right??? You look wonderful, keep up the great work. Patty 279/142 (Trying to maintain)

One of the things that we fail to remember is that our faces have fat, too. When we lose a lot of weight, there isn't as much to fill out our face. However, there are ways that I've found to try to rejuvenate my face. I am hell bent to not get a facelift. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 46 and I'm nearly three years out, and I had the same problem with friends and co-workers. Try these things: One is to take my vitamins. Vitamins help keep your skin healthy and may help with those gray circles a lot of us develop around our eyes. Second is the various facial regimens out there - I use Revitalift and an eye creme. Plus a dermabrasion product. I have found that significantly reduced the number of "you look so tired" comments. Third is sun or a cosmetic facsimile of it. There's nothing that beats a glow and a little pink on the cheeks. Fourth is your attitude & posture. ARE you tired? If so, see if you can't get more rest and relaxation, and do a little exercising. IF that doesn't help, see your primary care physician. But there's one other reason that people say that, and that is because you've lost weight and you aren't the roly poly person they once knew. They're still expecting to see the larger version of you and when you appear thin, they automatically assume you must be tired. Smile and enjoy the new you! Janet

I havent had my surgery yet... but I am thinking that I would rather look old and have the ability to live to an old age.. than to look young and die young... so if looking older is a price I have to pay to extend my life... so be it.. besides, I have always had this idea that i would eventually in my last years like to look like Gandalph the wizard!! LOL
