Dr. Greene question?
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anybody knew if Dr. Greene accepts new patients who have had surgery with another doctor? My doctor was Dr. Chebli in Virginia and he recently moved out of the area. A new doctor took over his practice, but I haven't seen him yet. I am moving to the Rockville area in a few months and figured since I have to see a new doctor anyway, I would love to see somebody local. I have heard such good things about Dr. Greene and his support groups that I would love to go to him. I guess I can just call the offfice and ask. I just thought somebody might now his policy about this since I know a lot of doctors won't see another surgeon's patient.
Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa!
We have a number of post-op patients in our (Dr. Greene's) support group who have had their surgeries elsewhere with other surgeons, and I know that Dr. Greene welcomes all -- to the support groups, and to his practice. He is very committed to long-term post-op follow-up care of the WLS patient. I just had my second annual visit with him yesterday (he did my surgery), and he was already focusing on my annual visit with him next July.
You should call his office and find out how to have your surgery records transferred so he has as much background history on you as is possible.
Please refer to Dr. Greene's web site at: www.AdvancedWLS.com, and the "Calendar" for the support group meeting schedule. We meet the 2nd Monday and 4th Sunday of the month (except September, when we'll be meeting the 3rd Sunday) at 6:30 p.m. in the Rockville area. Many of us (post- and pre-op) go out to dinner nearby after the meeting; plan on joining us when your schedule permits.
