Medicaid or Medicare Financing?????

Does anyone know if either of these will pay for RNY in Maryland? I had the surgery in Tex. on July 12th and doing great. My sis who lives in Md. was trying to get surgery then lost her job. I don't know whether it is jealousy or what but she won't even email me since the surgery. I wanted to try to find out any info about her getting the surgery. She isn't a fighter and gives up too easily when someone tells her no, but she needs this lifesaving surgery as much as I ever did.

Medicare paid for my surgery I didn't have any problems. They don't preapprove but if she has comorbidities and her doctor thinks it's necessary she should be fine. Hope things work out. Have a great weekend.

the same here to i lost my job while i was researching the surgery i got medicade through united heath care and i i had pre conditions just needed to have my doctor right a letter saying that i waS IN NEED ON THE SURGERY GOT APPROVE IN 1 WEEK SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM

Thank you Gita for your reply. I am not going to let my sister use that excuse aqny more. She talks like she really wants this surgery. Hopefully, she will know for sure now that she can.

I have medicare and it paid for everything. I didnt need pre-approval because I had other health problems that was associated to my weight. Good luck to you and your sister.
