Need ideas- Plastic Surgery

Hi everyone.. Looking into PS. and was hoping to find some good leads to websites, doctors, just about anything.... I need to have my stomach done, and the breast are in need of some type of help . Any info would be great... Hope all is well with everyone. Karen D 310/178/170.. before PS

Karen... congrats on the weight loss. I know for a while I felt worse after losing weight with the skin... that's even with working out with a trainer. I used the Plastic Surgery Board and saw two PS presentations at support groups and then went on several consults. One thing that helped me was getting references from other WLS patients. I had an inner/outer thight lift, brachioplasty and mastopexy. Two procedures about 4 months apart. I was fortunate, I didn't need abdominoplasty (sp?). I used Adam Basner and am 110% pleased. He and staff are great, include "you" in the process. I didn't feel like I was being "sold" a bunch of procedures. His fee has included all pre- and post-op visits and follow up. I have one arm that may require some lipo (it seems to be still a little swollen) and that will be done in the office - no added costs, etc. I had about 4 1/2 pounds removed from inner/outer thigh lift - but it really made a difference in clothes. I'm just now feeling like I can buy clothes that will fit. Up until now I've still had to have lots of alterations. The inner/outer takes about 6 months to realise full benefit but it's worth it! The arms and breast lift are instant results and really pain free. Not really anything more than skin removed so didn't really weigh anything. I didn't opt for any enhancement... but I'll tell you not having that skin hang down is the greatest and no more sore back. The way Dr. Basner does the lift and the hand stitching and the fact that I didn't lose any feeling was the reason I chose him. As an added bonus my hubby was/is thrilled with results! Do your homework, ask questions, get references, and rely on your "gut" for whom you feel comfortable with... Best wishes Lisa

Hi Karen, I am 16 months out since WLS, and need a tummy tuck and a breast lift BADLY!!! I am scheduled with Dr. Vogel, out of baltimore...so far, he has been wonderful and his staff are all caring, kind and attentive. I am having a full tummy tuck on Sept 19th with a breast lift approx 4 months later....I have a problem with inflammation, so he doesn't want to do both at the same time... Obviously there are many great doctors in the area, but I have more than happy with Dr. Vogel so far...he has done many WLS patients AND he has great before/after pictures. I felt comfortable with his ideas...he is not just a doctor, but an artist... Best wishes, RAE
