WLS Seminars in Maryland
Hi. Isn't there a website for Dr. Barry Greene's patients of WLS surgery? I once had it but lost it when my computer crashed. I'd like to go to one of his seminars; am looking into the lap-band surgery. I weigh 340 and am 54 years old. I think the meetings were one Sunday each month and one Thursday each month someplace in Rockville. Thanks, everyone. -- Pat in Laurel, MD

Pat,
Dr. Greene's web site is: www.AdvancedWLS.com
His support group meetings for pre- and post-op patients are, generally, the 2nd Monday of the month at Temple Beth Ami in Rockville/North Potomac; and the 4th Sunday of the month at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, in its Weinschel Education Center. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m.
Please note: Because of the upcoming ASBS Conference, there is NO meeting for this Sunday, June 26.
The next support group meeting is Monday, July 11, 2005, at the Temple Beth Ami location. The street address and links for maps to the locations are available from Dr. Greene's web site.
You are very welcome at the meetings; no appointment or reservation is required. If you come on July 11, plan on joining many of us for dinner after the meeting at nearby Ledo's. Although Ledo's is famous for its pizza, this location offers an excellent low-carb menu. Our after-meeting dinners give the pre-op patients an opportunity to mingle and schmooz with the post-op patients, see how we eat after the surgery (we're at many different stages, from a month or two post-op to several years post-op), ask questions, and have a good time.
