Hello .. I saw my PCP on Tuesday.. she gave me a referral to see a surgeon at Walter Reed. I have Tricare Prime. Has anyone in Maryland with this insurance had the lapband surgery? What was the time line .. start to surgery? Thank you very much Denise

Hi Denise! Congratulations! I don't have any experience really about the lapband. Although, I know alot of insurance companies consider it "experimental". Even though, many physicians do not, I would call your insurance company to see if that is the case. They can give you a more difinitive answer. I don't think this is the case for all insurance companies, but I would definately look into it, since you are so early in your process. Do you know if your surgeon does other procedures as well?
