7 year out Reflections
Well yesterday was my 7th anniversary of my RNY! I thought a lot yesterday about that fateful day! Would I do it again ?? YES! without a doubt no hesitation whatsoever!
I never reached my "goal " but I am within 10 Lbs. of my lowest weight.
It's not only about what a lost - Its more about what I gained!. I have traveled several times via airplane. Something I couldn't do before. I have crossed tons of things off my "bucket list"
I parasailed twice; ridden roller coasters for the first time in my life! But most important I have gained so many dear friends that " get me". I never could have done this without them.
So to anyone contemplating surgery I say go for it : You won't regret it!

Hi Darla My name is Joe I am just starting my journey going from a band to a vertical sleeve. .It's only beenn3 days since I seen the doctor and it seems like a long time..I have a question. You are 7 years out how has the hunger , the temptations and cravings been over the 7 years.. I don't fear the surgery orvpost op pain maybe the psy. Review but future hunger ,cravings ,and temptations. I know the surgery is only a tool I just trying to understand and get my head around the other stuff. Thank you. Joe
Joe: The surgery is a tool and I won't lie to you. There will be
hard days where you give into temptation and eat something or too much of something that will make you feel ill. I look at those times
as my body telling me you know better - My pouch still rules. I have just passed my 8th surgiversary and still I regret nothing .
I was talking to a friend just today who said my journey is an inspiration to others. I feel like I was reborn that day 8 years ago.
You can do this : Best of luck to you!
