Anyone in Hagerstown Area?

Hello!  I am considering WLS - have been for a couple of years.  I keep telling myself that I should be able to lose weight on my own, but after 40-50 pounds I always start gaining back.  Anyway, I am hoping to try to lose weight once more on my own before actually getting the surgery done but one way or another I am going to change.  I did have a consultation with Dr. Sweitzer at Johns Hopkins two years ago but decided against it at that time.  Assuming I do go forward with the surgery, I am curious to know whether any of you are in the Hagerstown area.  If so, have any of you gone to the Bariatric Surgery Center at Meritus Medical Center?  I really haven't heard anything about it - good or bad.  My boss - who is very supportive - still thinks I should go to Johns Hopkins (I work in Baltimore County three days a week).

I am new to this site and haven't had my surgery yet.  I live in western Maryland and have choosen Meritus in Hagerstown as my surgical center.  I have heard good things about the surgeons and the program.  I will meet with Dr. Small at Meritus this week.  I have heard good things about the program at Hopkins.  It's great that we live in an area that does provide us with several choices.

Thanks so much, Mary!  So nice to hear you had your consultation with Dr. Small this week.  I ended up going to Hopkins and actually had my consultation yesterday!  I am going with Dr. Steele.  She has a group meeting first and then meets with everyone individually.  One of the women who is having surgery brought her mom who had the surgery two years ago at Meritus.  She has lost 175 pounds and said she got good care there!
