Greetings,
I have my first appointment with Dr.Li on 4/18 .  Has anyone been thru this program? I am trying to guestimate a timeline?

 My husband had his first appt there this week too- his impression from what he heard was within 3-6 months he would have the surgery.  He is considering the sleeve mainly but now also considering the RNY which is what I had 6 years ago at GBMC.  Depends on when all the pre-op medical tests and evals are completed plus has to attend seminar/goups. 

Thank You for the information. I have since been to my first visit and per BCBS I have to have 6months of nutritional counseling. They gave me a list of things to have to be done from the psych eval to a sleep study.  I have already scheduled sleep study, psych eval and requested a letter of support from my doctor.  I also have to lose 10-15 lbs.  Oh JOY. I am on my way

I saw Dr Long at Sinai for my second vist which was 2months from first visit...I had all my testing done and the 20 pounds weight loss that she required. I got my surgery date for gastric bypass for Sept. 11. So for me it was a total of 3 months.

I can't believe it.  I am already done with the 5th visit.  I see Dr. Li on September 5th

 My Sleeve was done by Dr. Li 4/26/10. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. The hospital was great, and the staff was awesome. 
More than two years out and I have a new lease on life. You have picked an awesome surgeon!
