 Hi All,

I had my surgery 2 years ago and was doing great until about 5 months ago. I have been eating bad foods and because of working long hours I have not been going to the gym. I just need a little inspiration or a kick in the butt to get back on track. I have gained about 13lbs in the past 3 months and was wondering if anyone out there is looking for a workout partner. I live in Silver Spring, MD and usually go to golds gym. if your interested let me know.

Also, has anyone else gone through this and if so how were you able to get back on track.

Thanks,

Wesley

Hi Wesley,

I am so glad you reached out for help.  Let me tell one thing...... You are NOT alone.  I go through the same thing and I am 4 1/2 years out.  What I do to kick myself back on track is do the 5DPT to help me curb the carb craving. It helps me shed a few pounds and I lose what I have gained.  I do this because I will not allow myself to get back to where I was pre-op.

I hope that you find an exercise partner. I used to live in MD but moving out here to WV really sucked. I could not even find a support group or set one.  I have met so much unmotivated people in my life out here that it is quite depressing. lol

But what I do is be accountable to myself. I am not there to help you be accountable but you can post here and I will cheer you on and check up on you.

You can get back on track you CAN do this!  If you want the 5DPT  (5 day pouch test link) let me know and I will post it or you can google it.

Take care!

Cira

This is for when after having the gastric bypass surgery. This is like going back to basics as if you just had weight loss surgery.  It helps you feel restriction and kick the carbohydrate cravings.

Here is the link so you can check it out.

Good luck in your journey.   Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hi Wesley,
I have not had my surgery yet but I can't get motivated at all!  I have the same problem with work being a priority and I just can't get it together!

I love your profile picture.  I do American Bulldog and Pit bull rescue in Baltimore.

Good luck!  and get to the gym!

Hi Wesley,
I'm pre-op and live in Silver Spring.  Planning excercise for after surgery.  I'm near downtown Silver Spring.  There is a 24 hour gym in Kensington that I'm considering.  Are you a member of a gym?  I know Silver Spring is kind of large.

Hi Wesley!  We have a lot in common.... too much!!  I live in SS, MD... my surgeon was also Dr. Cantor... my surgery is 2 years ago.... and yep... I gained 20 lbs back, lost 6 already so 14 now.

But, I'm in Physical Therapy and can't do a regular gym routine yet.  (Had 3 - yes 3 hip replacements since my VSG)  Kinda depressed about everything, healing but not fast enough, never made goal weight and blah, blah, blah.  In all honesty, I started eating desserts and more carbs, bottom line. No ones fault but my own!!!  But I'm working on getting back to at least where I was and then some!!

Do you go to the post op meetings at Holy Cross? I've not been in a long time. Too long. Maybe we can meet up at next one!?

Take care, stay strong and we'll get back on track!
