I am seeking  information on revision surgery, who was your doctor, what hospital you have your revision surgery, what was your original WLS and what did you revise to.  I am interested in revision from RNY to DS as I have gained over have of what I lost 10 years ago.

Dr. Hazem Elariny is the best surgeon for WLS.   He will sit down with you and review ALL the options as he understands how and why people gain back weight from their surgeries.   His number is:  1-703-778-6000.   He is in Va and is very easy to get to.   Pretty much right after the woodrow wilson bridge.   He is amazing and has been wonderful for everyone that has gone from St. Mary's County..........good luck!!!

Thanks for your reply.  i went to see him 2yrs ago, he suggested I wait a year because I had just finished with chemo.  So now I have started this journey again seeking revision from RNY to DS. My insurance is changing in January, so now I am waiting for January and Aetna.  BCBS denied me twice.

Hello,

I never had a revision but my doctor is wonderful as well and he is located in Catonsville, MD Dr. David von Rueden  410-368-3003 St Agnes hopsital.

Good luck with the new insurance and with the doc you choose.

Take care and please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

Thanks so much for replying.  I will check out your suggestion to see if he does DS revision, not to many doctors do this revision.   I use to read post on here a couple of yrs ago, what happened to everyone.

Maybe Dr. S at John Hopkins Hospital....  Good luck!

As for the board people get stupid they get power trips and everyone end up getting turned off.  So people move on.  But some are still around offering support.  It's hard when you post and try support people but no one real is posting back.

To me this board was of great support to me during my journey. So I hope I can continue paying forward when I have the chance since I am always busy.

I wish you all the best in your journey.  Please keep us posted.

Take care,

Cira

thanks again for replying.  I checked on Dr S a few years ago but did'nt follow thru and I didn't have anyone willing to drive me to baltimore.  I am doing research again and check to see what my new insurance will cover so hopefully 2012 will be my year for a new start.

keep in touch

You're welcome Marianna.  I am hoping 2012 is a wonderful year for you. Wishing you all the best and like I said keep me posted. I will be your cheer leader to cheer you on.  :)  I hope the new insurance will allow to ge what you need.

How far is Hughsville from Baltimore?  I lived in MD for 10 years and never really learned how to get around too much. I live in Laurel and then Odenton before I we purchased a house in Charles Town, WV.

I will look out for your updates.  If not email me @ [email protected]

Take care,

I think is is like 55-65 miles.  I don't like driving when i'm not sure where i am going.  I called his practice but have since forgot what they said.  I might call again  just to see what is going on with them now.  I am so glad you have been able to maintain your weight loss.  be very careful if you start to gain weight react right away don't wait like i did. When i started to react my weight was out of control again. I will email you sometimes.  My email is [email protected].

It is nice talking to you.  Thanks for the information and help.

I just sent you an email to your private email addy at aol.

You are right when I see myself gaining I get back to basics and I work on losing the pounds because I refuse to go back.  I know what I have is a tool and I have to work hard to keep the weight off.

There is no true WLS that will keep you thin. Our bodies are resilient and will readjust and start holding on to evertthing that we eat.    It gets harder each year for sure but what I think of is that I have to stick to the way of life that I chose to take and make all the right choises.

Good luck Marianna!
