Do you mean to tell me that the Surgeons who do these surguries so not accept Insurance? I am heartbroken. How can people afford it then? I know someone who had it in 2002 and it was paid by Ins and she also had a resulting tummy tuck paid by Ins. That really breaks my heart to learn that.

Huh?  I am not sure what you mean by " the Surgeons who do these surguries so not accept Insurance".

Yes, surgeons do accept insurance.  They have the right to pick and choose which insurance they will take.

What surgeon(s) does your insurance company recommend?

As far as plastic surgery (tummy tuck), very very few insurance companies pay for this.

Lots of surgeons (in different specialties) do not accept insurance for a variety of reasons. Some don't want to deal with the hassle of waiting to be paid/approved; may have to do with malpractice or they just don't want to deal with insurance.

Some people pay out of pocket, loans/borrow money or go on a payment plan. Some surgeons may say they do not accept insurance but will file on your behalf.

That's when you shop around and find one that does accept your insurance.
