Considering a Revision Consult....
He said if it's slipped we can work on revising. We are still checking for anything else like hernia, ulcers from acid etc. I go for my barium upper GI on Friday. I don't know if the reflux is enough to revise (on the insurance end). When he asked do i like the band and I said not really that is when he said well we'll just take the damn thing out. So he would revise regardless. And his recommendation is RNY - that is what he does most in his practice. It's being able to approved for the revision. He didn't want to say too much until he got all my previous records and my results from these tests. Hopefully I will know more in about a week after my upper GI.
Since the band is unfilled, no more heartburn. I am starving and can pretty much eat anything with NO restriction and obviously once again I am no longer full. The past few days have not been easy at all!

Thanks Brandi! I didn't realize he was your surgeon. I knew Candi had him for the band but couldn't remember who else on the boards at the time had him!
So far I had a good experience. My gut tells me go with RNY (since the long term data isnt there for VSG) but I am concerned about the long term re-gain with RNY and possibly the major vitamin regimen (not sure what the extent of this is yet or for how long...I have to do more research on vitamin supplement after RNY).
My other research has been on DS (which I dont think he does and I am not sure which surgeon in the area does) . And then my next question was well if you have VSG will people revise from a VSG to a DS since half the procedure is already done?
If I am able to have this revision I just need to make sure I am making the right choice this time around.... I do not want to make another mistake in the choosing the wrong surgery.

Sorry to hear that you've continued to have difficulties, but I'm so glad you're seeing Dr. Singh. I love him lots!
I did really well, and yes, I sympathize with you on the heartburn/reflux thing - I started getting that lately, and am trying different things with regards to that. My mother has had heartburn problems herself and she's not a WLS person - so I'm thinking either we are just too acidic for our own good, genetically, LOL! And because she chews tums daily, I'm not attributing the reflux/acid/whatever it is to my band.
I got to goal this past March, but then moved to Richmond, and kinda started putting it back on. I'm going to Dominion Surgical Associates this afternoon to meet with that group who is listed as a Lapband provider - so I can get maintenance. I hadn't had a fill since March 2010 - and I'm pretty sure it's time for it now that I can eat a bit more than I should be.
Keep me posted! I don't come through here often because I get my fill of how everyone's doing at a snapshot on Facebook. It seems to be easier to know what's up with everyone there than here. You can find me as Candy Mott-Harris. :)
