Cooking for your family post-op?

I am awaiting a surgery date and have been wondering how and what I'm going to cook for my family after surgery.  Do you make a meal for yourself and something different for everyone else? Or do you all eat the same thing (only much less)? I also have 2 small children one of whom is very picky so I know he will not eat certain things.  TIA!!

You will need to follow your post-op diet the first few weeks which will probably not include a meal for everyone else.  Once you are cleared and move on from soft foods, then everyone can enjoy the same.  A protein and a veggie is a great way to start.  Leave out the carbs and everyone will benefit.

you will find that your family will change their eating habbits with you. for example, my family used to eat a TON of fried foods, sweets, etc. now with my surgery, everyone looks at the carbs, sugar, and sodium content (even my 10yr old!) your surgery is a great life changing event for everyone, so dont sweat it  :)

Thanks! That's what I'm hoping, an overall healthy change for everyone here.
