Dr. Mo GBMC-Weight Loss during process
Robyn
I would try to get in a diet liquid for the next two weeks so that you can lose 4 to 5 pounds. You can do it if you really try. But I know that some doctors will cancel surgery but not sure of Dr. Mo.
Good Luck and keep us posted on what the dr's office says.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

But your appointment isn't until January 20. You still have time. I'd let go of the stress and anticipation and refocus your efforts on eating better and moving more. That's the long term goal anyway. (And maybe give the nutritionist a call. Is it Rebecca? She's terrific. She might be able to give you some practical advice.)
Remember to treat yourself kindly. A lot of us got overweight by talking to ourselves in the most unkind way. Nothing good is ever accomplished by beating ourselves up. Just dust yourself off and take good care of yourself.
Good luck!
i have dr liao, and during my journey i gained 14 pounds between my 4th and 5th visit because of my pcp taking me off my diuretics, and dr liao understood. he is a very understanding doc. he told my during my last visit in oct that 64oz water is 4 pounds! remember your wieght will fluctuate because of different factors. as long as your trying you should not have any issues.
I too have Dr Liao, and went to one of my visits after gaining 3lbs. He didn't;t even say anything, The Nurse has commented to my weight-gain before, but more so wondering what could of happened, and recognizing that.
I have always been told by them that depending on your starting weight will depend on how much they would like you to lose before surgery. I on the other hand have not lost much but more so maintained my same weight. I am scheduled and approved for surgery on Jan 27Th.
They are very understanding. And what I like most about their office is that they don;t make you feel worse than you already do about your accidental weight gain.
As far as insurance is concerned they have said in orientation that the insurance companies can deny if you gain anywhere over the sum of 20lbs because to them it appears you are not taking it serious.
BOTTOM LINE...don't trip over a couple of pounds, it happens to the best of us!
Good luck :)
