Hi all its been a while and I have been doing ok.  down below 200 lbs now down to 197. My question is this.  Has anyone had difficulty eating white meat and tuna after thier surgery.  I can not eat tuna, chicken, or pork chops with out getting sick.  But I can handle ground beef,

Does this make any sense to anyone

Honestly, there really isn't a normal. Everyone's pouch has different quirks and likes and dislikes. It could be that the meat is too dry. Chicken and lean pork have a tendency to dry out. If you're mixing mayo with the tuna, it could be the mayo. I used to dump on mayo. Have you tried using marinates or gravy to make the meat more moist?

You may be able to eat it in time. I'm almost 16 months out and it's only been in the last few months that I can tolerate ground beef and it's still hit or miss for me. Try it again in small doses down the road and you may find that you can tolerate it.

Hi Lori,

Congratulations on reaching ONDERLAND!!!! Yay!

It took me a while before I can eat meats without getting stuck.  What I learned to do was cook my meats in the slow cooker and with the juices or sauce I could eat them with no problem. Pork chops, steak and Chicken cooks wonderfully in the slow cooker.

One day I could eat something just fine then all of the sudden a couple of days it would not go down nicely.  I remember that sometimes i would forget and eat too fast and ughhhh that was just awful.  But lets just say that it gets better with time.

Take it easy and experiment with a slow cooker you will be a happy camper. ;)

Hugs,

Cira
