I have to find a new PCP - any suggestions?

My PCP is now out of network. I can't afford an out of network doctor. Besides she and I hadn't really "bonded" bonded and her location is sort of out of the way for me.

I am in Baltimore City. My requirements for a PCP are as follows:

-Accessible hours (evening/weekend hours a plus)
-Friendly demeanor
-Does not treat me like I am on a conveyor belt of patients
-Some experience with bariatric surgery is a plus
-Nice nursing staff
-Takes things like labs seriously
-Will give you a number to reach them directly
-Reasonable wait times

Any suggestions? I have United Healthcare by the way. I'm willing to research any doctor but I want to make this move my last (or at least last for a while).

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!

I've never met a doctor who allows you to reach them directly.

I have Dr. Jonathan McCoy in Hanover as my PCP.  He's very personable, he takes his time with you, very thorough, is open two evenings and 2 Saturdays a month.  He will call you personally with your test results.  He likes to give a complete physical on your first visit where you'll be in with him for at least an hour.

His staff is excellent...very nice, professional and thorough.  He takes almost all insurances including medicaid and medicaid MCO's.  His office is right across the street from Arundel Mills Mall.

He wrote an outstanding letter of medical necessity for my insurance approval...once I turned his letter in, I had approval within a couple days.

I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see him.

my pcp is dr daljeet saluja. he is near union memorial hospital on keswick road in the city. he has alot of knowledge with RNY. i have been his patient for over 5 years and i must say he is the best pcp doc i have ever had. i believe he meets all your requirements, and he definatley takes time with each of his patients, yet the wait is not very long.his number is 410-235-8885. give him a look see.

I see Dr Usha Vemulakonda from Seton Medical Group - she is in the same building as DVR and Dr. A...

She is awesome in my book - I have her cell number... when all of my complications after surgery were going on, she was on vacation yet took the time to call the hospital after I left her a sobbing voicemail - she also came home and visited me on a SUNDAY when she doesn't normally do hospital visits...

She has been great with my RNY requirements, and is amazing in my book!
