Well I went to see my primary doc last week,, talked about thyriod, being cold, losing too much weight ect ect ect. SHE suggested the possibility of reversal. She wants me to raise the carb intake. She sent me for labs, good news,, thyroid is normal, diabetes looks good, chol is normal.

WAIT  now the bad,, I'm anemic, kidneys seem to be out of whack. I go for more labs today. I sit here wanting,, no needing something to drink,,, nope,, has to be fasting. I am three hrs from being able to drink something and am going nuts because I can't. I HATE FASTING BLOOD WORK.

Thanks and sorry for the vent.

That sucks! I hate fasting stuff. I have my c-section at noon, which emans I have to fast form 9 p.m. the night ebfore to noon the day of, without even water. So, I can relate.

I usually read a book or watch a movie on my phone to egt my mind off the fact that Ic annot eat or drink.

Good luck with the labs!

Oh no, Tom, that's not great news. Well hopefully this is something that is easily solved. And how wild is it to have your doctor tell you to eat more carbs?! Take care and good luck. Keep us posted.

Tom,

I am sorry you are going through some stuff.  I hope and pray everything gets fixed and you do not have to do a reversal.

I was having the same issues at one point where I couldn't stop losing weight. It didn't matter how many more carb I added to my diet.  But it settled for me at about the beginning of the second year.  I still suffer from freezing all the time. This summer when it was super hot in the 90's to 100 I was comfortable and happy. Everyone else was suffocating, except hubby he had the RNY and he always cold too. All my labs were all good so they couldn't find anything wrong.

Try to hold on a bit longer without having to reverse unless Dr. A says it is absolutely necessary.

Now it gets really hard to lose once you gain.  Therefore, if I gain 10 pounds I have to really fight to get those 10 pounds off.

I hope and pray that your labs come back normal and it was just a fluke.  Please keep us posted.

Hugs,

Cira

I too hate fasting blood work, hell I hate fasting period! At least you got some of your ?? answered, and all with good results. So hopefully with this fasting BW you can get some answers that you have been looking for. I hope you get the results soon, and all will be good to go(or really easy to fix) It also never hurts to ask for a little help from the man/woman upstairs to speed up the fasting and good results! Looking forward to hearing good news, Leslie:)

Keep venting Tom... The more you vent here, the less you keep inside!  Remember that this is a mental journey as well as phyiscal... You can eat more carbs - we know you can!  Just make sure not to slack on your protein - you need that as well even though you are out of the losing phase (or you want to be!)

MORE red meat!!  LIVER (eww!!)  Good luck getting the iron up!
