Hello,
I'm a Dr. S post-op and he normally doesn't take the gall bladder out at the same time. Are you positive that this is why your surgery was cancelled? You can e-mail him and see if he'll e-mail you back with an explanation. [email protected]. Another suggestion is to call Christine Walsh, the program's nurse administrator to see if you can get to the bottom of it.
Good Luck!
Heather

So i did email him but i also called Christine she got my date back for me but i have to go see him oh Monday i had been meaning to ask him about the gallbladder due to the fact i was not sure if they can take it out or not so instead of a nurse or Dr S calling me i got a canceled call so i have to go see him on Monday so he can explain the gallbladder aftercare after surgery!! But thank u JESUS i got my date back i was super de duper disapointed and upset this morning!! Thanks everyone for your thoughts:)
Do you have known issues that would cause him to want to take your gallbladder? I know some surgeons remove it routinely as part of WLS but not Schweitzer.
As for gallbladder aftercare, he will put patients on Actigall or Urisdoll I think they are called, for 6 months following surgery to help prevent gallstones during the rapid weight loss phase.
