Here's where I am at

So, I am 8 days away from my C-section and I am petrified. Not of the surgery itself. After gastric bypass, gall bladder removal, hernia repair, tummy tuck, car crash - surgery doesn't faze me. It's the fact that in about 10 days, they'll send me home with a tiny human being and expect me to keep him alive and turn him into some sort of responsible human being - that freaks me out!!!

I am trying to think past that and make goals for myself:

- how will I get back to pre-pregnancy weight
- how will I make sure my marriage doesn't take a back seat
- how will I make sure I don't take my frustrations out on the baby
- how will I make sure that I have time for me too

Jeff and I are equally excited, scared, worried, happy about this new event in our lives and hopefully, we'll make it together. We celebrate 5 years of being married in December and I can truly say that every year has amde us stronger. Oh, we fight, we argue, we disagree. Anybody who says they don't in their marriage has blinders on. But, we don't put each other down, we don't abuse each other verbally, mentally or physically and we always always hug after an argument. Works for us :-)

That's my life right now, what's new in yours?

Hi Sylvie,

The day is finally drawing near!  I'm so excited for you.

There isn't too much new for me.  I had a short bit of drama due to my band being too tight.  Had some saline taken out, back to normal, and trying to keep up with exercise and healthy eating.  Just out there living and loving life.

Best Wishes for "birthing the alien!"

Terri

It's not how fast you go, but that you're moving in the right direction!

Sylvie, I don't even know you and I'm excited for you and your husband.  Being a father of two (11 and 10), I know exactly where you're at right now.  Enjoy it and enjoy the sleep you may be currently getting.  It may be a while before you can do so again.  lol.  Be sure to post pictures so we can all enjoy them!  Congratulations.

Thanks! There will definitely be photos and lots of them. We are shutterbugs in our family and with the new iPhones, we are never without a camera.

Wishing you an uneventful delivery and speedy recovery.  I will not lie it is going to be a *****aotic for a little bit but it will all work out.  I am sure you have your family to help you and Jeff as well to make the transition easier.

As far as getting back to pre pregnancy weight your pouch will bounce back when you have the baby. All you have to do is keep at it and look for support with others that are going or have been through the same thing.  ex. pregnancy board.  I got lots of help there.

Nothing really new in my life, just school and the running around with the kids and such.  Working hard to maintain my weight and enjoying my new (second chance) life.

I can't wait to see pictures of your little miracle.
