Hi All... I just found the Maryland forum..DUH!!! I live in Fallston & work in Middle River. Anyway ...is there any patients of Dr Lidor out there? I am having RNY with Dr Lidor on 12/10/2010 & was wondering what others think of her as a WLS Surgeon. I am totally comfortable confident with her ...just being nosey. Oh Yea...Anyone Go to the BayView support groups?

I had my surgery done at Bayview last 12/15.  I did not have Dr. Lidor - my surgeon was Dr. Steele - who I adore.  I was very happy with the care I received while in the hospital and by the entire Bayview medical team during my journey.

I have attended quite a few support groups at Bayview and really have found them to be both awe inspiring and helpful.  I would recommend getting to as many as possible early on.

Good luck on your journey - it is a trip of a lifetime.

She wasnt my surgeon but I know she pissed me off when she checked on me post op.

She told me "now we arent going to go home and crawl in bed and watch American Idiol reruns now are we??!"

Thats when I told her I dont own TV...she  was kind enough to share that she doesnt let her nanny show her kids TV either...

She totally rubbed me the wrong way...I had dr schweitzer...only seen him for like a grand total of 20 minutes, he seems fine..

Good luck with her...just dont be a lazy fat AI Rerun watcher and you will be fine!! LOL

I went to my first support group meeting at JH last week. I was expecting a group where people talk and share and it wasn't like that. We heard a very good presenter on mindful eating. It was very enlightening but I felt pretty isolated because I was new and didn't know anyone. They gave people an opportunity to talk after the meeting but, again, being new I wasn't quite comfortable.

I'll be there on Nov. 11 anyway...they'll be talking about fashion before, during and after WLS. Should be good!

I was there as well...lol, anyway the first meeting I went to it there in Oct was the typical support group setting where everyone was talking about where they were at in their journey, etc... So I know that they do have that type of metting there sometimes..., I guess it depends on if they have someone to speak on a particular subject or not.  Anyway I should be there in Nov. as well, I hope I get a chance to meet you.

Have you had surgery yet? My date is 12/10/2010... Woo-Hoo. I cant wait!!!

Take Care :-)

That's good news.  I was planning to introduce myself to people and MAKE them talk to me next time I went. It's good to know I won't have to resort to such drastic measures. lol Someone else on OH told me that it was different on other nights as well.

No, I haven't had my surgery yet...AND I'm totally jealous and happy for you. :-)  I have my first consult with Dr. Schweitzer on Monday.  I feel like I'll be really plugged in and get things moving.  I've made appointments for almost everything already but I've got to wait it out.

Thanks Cindy!  That gives me hope.  That's what I am looking for. I'll make sure if I can only make 1 meeting that I go to the first one...lol  Although speakers give very good information as well.
