On the day of surgery, I weighed 298. My 4 week follow up, I was at 269 (now, this is according to MY scale where I weigh first thing in the morning...byt the time I make it to the dr in the afternoon, Im usually up a couple) That was a loss of 29 lbs (again...thats MY scale)

No one seemed to thrilled about that number...I think the grand total at the dr was 25-26 or so.

Dr A said by my next appt (4 more weeks...Oct 28) I should reach another 10% loss. That should be 27-29 lbs.

For the month of October, Ive lost a stunning, grand total of 3 pounds. Im so afraid to walk in there next week and feel like a failure. Ive upped my protein and am working out MUCH more than last month.

Im at 800-1100 calories a day.
65-100 grams of protein.
80-100 carbs
25-50 grams fat

My BMR is around 2600 calories. By the numbers, everything looks good. Im happy with my loss so far. When was the last time I lost 32 pounds in 8 weeks? I assume the loss will pick up again. I just dont know what to say when I walk ino the dr office.

(((MAR)))

Look again at what you wrote - you've lost 32 pounds in 8 weeks - THAT'S 4 POUNDS A WEEK.  And YOU'RE happy!  That's paramount to ANY success!

But I know what you're saying - you still feel like a failure.  But by whose definition?

First of all, DO NOT apologize to anyone, including the doctor.  If you're being compliant with your food, drink and exercise, it seems to me you're doing the best you can.  Hopefully, rather than criticize, your doctor's staff will want to do all they can to help you maximize your weight loss and will offer suggestions and help.

Assuming you're journaling everything you're doing, take that with you and let them see the numbers so they have it in black and white.

Personally, I think you're a smashing success, especially considering everything you've been through.  Hang in there!

Hugs,

Tia

TIA!!

Where have you been woman!? Hopefully you are out with that new man of yours having a good time!

Thanks...Im just over-reacting maybe? AND of course Im getting all worked up over it and my appt isnt for another WEEK. LOL Sometimes I think Im NOT happy unless Im stressing over something.

You're right. Im tracking EVERYTHING and can print it all out. I was slacking on the exercise for a while, but Ive really picked it up now. Im walking at lunch (not SOO vigorous, since Its only my lunch break) but Ive just started Zumba...and Im LOVING it!

I gotta relax...but its so easy to put it out there...plus writing it for you all helps me deal
