i was submitted to insurance last Friday and approved on Tuesday,
How long aftre approval did you have to wait to be scheduled for pre-op testing and to get a surgery date? 

Depends on your surgeon's schedule as to when you will get a surgery date.  I was approved within one day of submission and on the surgery schedule in two weeks. 

Hello Cindy and welcome! I had Dr. Kligman (the other doctor in the UMMC bariatric program) and they called me to schedule a date as soon as I was approved and they send out the letter about your testing at the same time and you can ask questions. Don't be afraid to call them and ask what your next steps are. Kelly in the main office is awesome and super helpful. Good luck! So exciting!

Janice called me a couple days after approval to give me my date and my date was about a month after that. Good luck your almost there...

Thanks everyone, I did speak with Janice she is really patinet and great at getting back to me with all my questions. She said once the OR scheduler gives her a date the preop person will call me to start pre op testing. My insurance told me I am approved fo surgery and a hospital stay from 11/19-11/20/2010 , how long did those of you who had surgery stay in the hospital.

I had to stay 2 nights because I couldn't take in the required liquid amount they want you to drink/ eat the day after surgery. As long as you take in the required amount of liquid and can keep it down and everything goes ok with your swallow test (upper GI?) you should be able to go home the next day.

Wow 15 lbs from the liquid diet alone?  That's great!  I just hope I can make it.  Did you use the unjury or something else?

Where did you find the chewable citracal?

I used Slim Fast low carb pre made shakes. I got a big case of it at Sams club (make sure it is the low carb) and I ate the one meal (stir-fry) for dinner... They give you the recipe for it. It is the plan "B" part of the liquid diet. The first 2 days were hard than it wasn't so bad after that.
