I am new to this journey as well.  I have my first free informational seminar this Saturday 10/16/10 @ GBMC.  Has anyone heard good or bad about the surgeons there?

I am new here as well!  Well, I've been doing some lurking for about a month.  I just started my journey in August with the seminar and have been going through the motions ever since.  I met with my surgeon and besides the 6 months with the NUT and my psych eval, I only need to have an endoscopy, scheduled for this Friday....then I just do my 6 months and wait.  :o)

I am already gaining so much from reading all of these posts and thought it was about time for me to become active here.  I appreciate each one of you and feel like I know you all already!  I'm looking forward to sharing here and both offering and accepting support!

I am new as well, I am going to my first informational session this Saturday (10/16/10).  I am just hoping I will qualify because I have begun to get my hopes up and and can't stop thinking about it.  I am not doing full force research until I KNOW I am eligible.  Who are you going to?

I know what you mean about thinking about it nonstop.  Ever since I made the decision to seek this surgery I haven't stopped reading and watching videos.  I'm obsessed!!  lol

I'm going to Dr. Schweitzer at John Hopkins Bayview.

Hi Suzie...Welcome from another newbie.  :-)  I couldn't agree with you more.  I'd done a lot of research before joing this site but you can't beat actual experience.  The people in this community have already done, doing it or getting ready to do it like we are.  Every stage of that process brings knowledge that people can share.  It's amazing how generous some people are with themselves.

I look forward to supporting others as I feel I'm being supported here.  6 months will fly by just you wait.  I'll be telling you good luck and save a spot on the loser's bench for me.  :-)

Hello and welcome! Always nice to see new peeps on the board. I learned so much on here when I was new. Please feel free to check out my blog as I am using it to keep track of my journey too. I had RNY in May 2010. I'm so excited for you! So far this has been an incredible experience for me. I wish you all the best!

Dr. Schweitzer is the best.  The whole team at Bayview is great.  I am regularly at the support group meetings... I try to go to every one that I can, I hope to see you this Thursday.

Good Luck and if you ever have any questions you can feel free to ask (on the board, in person, or PM)
