UMMC Surgery

My date is coming quickly and I was curious if anyone else has had their surgery at UMMC and what their experiences have been with teh surgery and nurses etc...

Not ut Im waiting with you had my 6th visit with NUT on 09/02/10 waiting to have submitted to the insurance.

Highest weight- 325 Day of surgery- 301 Post surgery -306

I had Dr. Lomenzo do my RNY on 8/17/2010 and I had a great experience. All the nurses were great and everybody was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice, private and big. I also have lost 38lbs. Dr. Lomenzo has changed my life and I am so thankful. If you have any other questions please ask..

Thank you! Im so glad to hear from someone that has been to UMMC. I know that i have no worries and am confident in him and his staff. But its always nice to have a second opinion!
I am counting down the day! I am so excited :)

I had a wonderful experience there. I was kinda skeptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised. The hospital is very nice, rooms are huge and clean, the staff was excellent. You will have a great experience. I'd go back w/o hesitation.

I had Dr. Kligman do my surgery at University. The PACU nurse I had was incredible. She was sweet and very attentive. Post-op, she never left my side, she actually pulled up a chair and stayed with me until I was moved to my room.

The nurses I had on 5 Weinburg were great! Especially Connie! Only one was a little "rough" when putting in a new IV and giving shots.

Just remember to get up and walk, walk, walk as much as you can. I know they say 10 mins every hour. It really does help! It pushes all that gas out of you, reduces the pain because of it, helps prevent blood clots and helps you recover quicker.

I had my surgery on 7/26/10. Dr. Lo Menzo did my surgery. I had the vertical sleeve. Everyone was great except, I never left the 2nd floor where I had my surgery because there were no rooms available. It actually sucked, but otherwise everything was great!!! Good luck! You are in good hands!!!

The only regret I have is that I didn't to it sooner!!!!
